Warranty Information
At Regal Boats Marine B.V., we stand behind every outboard motor, marine engine, and accessory we sell. This page explains the warranties that apply to your purchase, including manufacturer warranties, our seller guarantee, and your statutory rights under EU law.
1. Manufacturer Warranty (New Products)
All new outboard motors and new marine products sold by Regal Boats Marine B.V. are covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty terms vary by brand and product type:
Table

| Yamaha Outboard Motors | 2–5 years (model dependent) | Subject to Yamaha Europe terms; requires dealer registration |
| Mercury / Mariner Outboard Motors | 2–3 years (model dependent) | Subject to Mercury Marine Europe terms |
| Suzuki Outboard Motors | 3–5 years (model dependent) | Subject to Suzuki Marine Europe terms |
| Honda Outboard Motors | 5 years (domestic use) / 1 year (commercial use) | Subject to Honda Marine Europe terms |
| Evinrude / BRP Outboard Motors | 3–5 years (model dependent) | Subject to BRP / Evinrude terms |
| Marine Generators & Inboard Engines | 1–2 years | Subject to manufacturer terms |
| Accessories, Propellers, Parts | 6 months – 1 year | Subject to manufacturer terms |
Important: Manufacturer warranties are provided directly by the brand and are in addition to your statutory rights under EU law. Warranty registration, servicing requirements, and claim procedures are governed by the manufacturer’s official documentation included with your product.

-
Follow the manufacturer’s registration process (if required).
-
Contact the manufacturer’s authorized service network or reach out to us for assistance.

3. EU Statutory Legal Guarantee (All Products)
Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and the Consumer Sales and Guarantees Directive 1999/44/EC, every consumer in the European Union is entitled to a minimum two-year legal guarantee of conformity on all products purchased from a professional seller.
This means:
-
Your product must conform to the description, quality, and performance advertised.
-
If a defect exists at the time of delivery and becomes apparent within 2 years, you are entitled to repair, replacement, or a price reduction free of charge.
-
You must inform us of any lack of conformity within 2 months of detecting the defect.
How the legal guarantee works alongside manufacturer warranties:
-
For the first 2 years, your statutory rights apply regardless of the manufacturer warranty.
-
The manufacturer warranty may offer extended coverage (e.g., 3–5 years) beyond the statutory 2-year period.
-
During the first 2 years, you may choose to claim under either the manufacturer warranty or the statutory guarantee. We will assist you with both.
4. What Is Covered Under All Warranties
Defects in materials or workmanship that occur under normal use and proper maintenance are covered, including:
-
Factory defects in engine components
-
Electrical system failures
-
Gearcase and transmission defects
-
Manufacturing defects in accessories and parts
5. What Is NOT Covered (Warranty Exclusions)
No warranty (manufacturer, seller, or statutory) covers the following:
-
Normal wear and tear — spark plugs, oil, filters, impellers, belts, anodes, lubricants
-
Improper use — racing, overloading, towing beyond rated capacity, submersion
-
Neglect or lack of maintenance — failure to follow the manufacturer’s service schedule
-
Environmental damage — saltwater corrosion, freezing damage, storm damage, sun damage
-
Unauthorized repairs or modifications — use of non-genuine parts, tampering with ECU or emissions systems
-
Transport damage — damage caused after delivery (unless reported within 48 hours)
-
Commercial use — unless the product is explicitly rated and sold for commercial application

7. Warranty Registration & Maintenance Requirements
To keep your warranty valid:
-
Register your product with the manufacturer if required (we will provide guidance).
-
Follow the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule (oil changes, impeller replacement, winterization, etc.).
-
Use only genuine or manufacturer-approved parts and fluids.
-
Keep all service records and receipts.
Failure to follow these requirements may void the manufacturer warranty, but your statutory 2-year legal guarantee remains valid as long as the defect is not caused by your own actions.
8. International Warranty Coverage
Our products are sold primarily for use within the European Union. Manufacturer warranties issued by European subsidiaries (e.g., Yamaha Motor Europe, Mercury Marine Europe) are generally valid throughout the EU and EEA.
For customers outside the EU:
-
Manufacturer warranty coverage depends on the brand’s global policy. Some manufacturers offer international warranty; others do not.
-
Please contact us before purchasing if you intend to use the product outside the EU, and we will confirm warranty eligibility for your region.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
-
Our total liability under any warranty shall not exceed the original purchase price of the product.
-
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of use, loss of profits, or damage to your vessel.
-
This does not affect your statutory rights as an EU consumer, which cannot be excluded or limited.
